Care at a glance

Light: Low light; North-facing rooms, corridors, a few metres from a window
Water: Water every 2–3 days; Keep the soil lightly moist, never soggy
Care: Easy care
Pets: Keep away from pets; Mildly toxic if chewed. Place out of reach of curious pets.

Peace lilies flower indoors, which few houseplants do. The white 'flowers' are actually a leaf-like spathe around the bloom spike and last for weeks.

It tells you when it needs water: the whole plant slumps, then stands back up within a few hours of a drink.
